Artist Identity Update

After reviewing our plan for artist identity we decided to change our artist from a male duo, to a female solo DJ. We feel this idea is more original as there are far fewer female DJ's in the music industry and it would make our artist more unique allowing us to fill a gap in the market. The lack of female DJ's was recently brought up in an article by the Guardian:

Clicking through DJ Mag's newly published list of top 100 DJs, it's easy to spot the one thing missing: women. Revered in the clubbing industry as the "black book" for DJs, producers and promoters, the list is voted for by the public every year. Between 2007 and 2011 just one girl, Claudia Cazacu, scraped on to the list, charting at number 93 in 2010. Not even Annie Mac – who hosts three shows on Radio 1, DJs regularly at Fabric and whose Annie Mac Presents mixtape is No 1 in the electronic charts – gets a look in.


Our artist will be young, edgy and fresh and although the artist is female, she will have a strong personality and will be really confident. We were thinking about having her wear black (perhaps with gold in places).
